One of the biggest dates on our calendar this year is the 10th October for World Mental Health Day! This day is dedicated to raising awareness of mental health and encouraging everyone to talk.
With 1 in 4 people suffering from a mental health condition, it is now more important than ever to raise awareness of mental health and wellbeing. Anyone can be affected by mental health problems and Oxfordshire Mind is here to advise and support anyone in your community struggling, but we need your help to run our vital services.
We’ll be painting the county in our Oxfordshire Mind blue by asking clubs, schools, businesses and everyone in between to raise awareness for mental health and vital funds to help us fight for better mental health!
It’s time to get creative and decide how you’re going to get involved! Here are our top blue fundraising ideas:
Wear it Blue
Ask your friends, students, members or colleagues to wear blue for a day! Everyone who dons their finest blue donates to Oxfordshire Mind. Make it more entertaining by encouraging fancy dress!
Walk it Blue
A walk or run is a brilliant way to get outside, keep active and help maintain positive mental health. Gather your team, colleague, students or friends and tick off one of your 5 Ways to Wellbeing by taking part in a sponsored walk or run, whilst dressed in blue. You can help spread awareness in your local community and fundraise at the same time. We have all the materials you need including a sponsorship form and essential fundraising pack – you can request these by emailing us at email@example.com
Oxfordshire is filled with scenic walks suitable for everyone. Take a look here to find one of your local walks or if you’re looking for one that is slightly more demanding, check out some recommended by the National Trust.
If you’re up for a challenge and feel physically prepared, turn your walk into a run and sign up for one of our Oxford Half Marathon spots!
Bake it Blue
Everyone loves a cake sale so why not bake some blue themed cakes whether that’s a blue velvet cake or blue sprinkles. Let us know you’d like to bake it blue and we’ll send you our cake and coffee morning resources to help make your event and raise those vital funds!
Sing it Blue
If you fancy yourself a professional showerhead singer or karaoke connoisseur, then grab your microphone and get everyone involved with a blue themed karaoke night. This could involve any song associated with blue such as Blue Suede shoes by Elvis, a song by Blue or the classic blues music. Everyone who takes part can donate to Oxfordshire Mind.
Whatever you decide to do, we’ve got plenty of fundraising materials to help from our branded T-shirts to stickers! We’d love to hear what you have planned and find out how we can support your event, get in contact at firstname.lastname@example.org or on 07593 382407
