Support Oxfordshire Mind this Giving Tuesday

This Giving Tuesday, we are appealing to the public to help us continue to support children and young people’s mental health.

Research by National Mind has shown that young people with pre-existing mental health problems have seen big declines in their mental health since lockdown. Over the last eight months, we have adapted and continued to deliver support to children and young people online and in socially distanced settings, where guidelines have allowed. Our programme is above all preventative, reaching children and young people before their mental health deteriorates and requires more clinical intervention.

Some of our projects include:

  • Workshops, focussing on resilience, exam stress and body image
  • Boxing for Wellbeing courses, including boxing as physical activity and wellbeing discussions, including self-care, anxiety, anger, social media and self-esteem, and anger and healthy coping strategies
  • One-to-one support to enable children and young people to talk about their situations and feelings, increase their knowledge of mental health and work with them to develop habits which enable good mental health.

We have launched an appeal to raise much-needed funds to ensure our projects that support children and young people can endure and expand with demand.
