‘Youth In Mind’ New Speaker

Youth in Mind is a new conference for anyone who works with children and young people in Oxfordshire.

With access to national and local experts, 50 exhibition stands, 20 workshops, performances, youth-led training and much more. We are delighted to announce that Professor Mina Fazel will be presenting at the conference.

About Professor Mina Fazel:

Professor Mina Fazel is an inspirational practitioner and academic with a passion for improving the mental health of all young people whether in schools, early intervention services or refugee detention centres.

Mina is a child and adolescent psychiatrist in the Department of Children’s Psychological Medicine at Oxford University Hospitals.

Her research focuses on School-based mental health interventions. She is working with Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust to develop better school-based mental health services for all children across Oxfordshire secondary schools. She is also working evaluate the changes in child mental health services across the region.

Mina believes that it is essential to find innovative ways for services to work in order to maximise children’s emotional, cognitive and social development. Which is why she has worked on developing a mental health toolbox for schools that any front-line worker can utilise.
