Children, Young People and Families
Our mission is to make sure that everyone, no matter their age, has access to support.
Supporting our children and young people
Feeling anxious, down or stressed? Want to spend time with people your age who understand how you feel? We’re here to support children aged 7-17 in Oxfordshire with their mental health and wellbeing.
What we provide
Our Supported Self Help programme is here for young people aged 7–17 who may be struggling with their mental health. Over six weeks, we work together in a supportive and structured way, using resources based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to help young people better understand and manage their feelings. With pathways to choose from, including anxiety, stress, low self-esteem and grief, each programme is tailored to what the young person needs most.
Sessions take place in participating GP surgeries with one of our trained wellbeing practitioners. A trusted adult, such as a parent or family member, also attends some sessions so they can continue supporting the young person outside of the programme. The aim is to build confidence, coping strategies and practical tools that make a real difference, both now and in the future. Families and professionals can make referrals directly through participating GP surgeries.
