Bridewell Gardens win a “WOBA” Award

Bridewell Gardens was established in 1994 with the help of Oxfordshire Mind and the Oxfordshire Mental Health Partnership. This week Bridewell mental health charity has received a prestigious West Oxfordshire Business Award (WOBA).

Bridewell is a mental health charity that offers social and therapeutic horticulture within a working walled garden in Wilcote to adults with mental health issues. Bridewell are a mental health recovery service which help people (known as gardeners) to reach a position where they can lead active lives in the community with minimal external support.

During their time at Bridewell, gardeners take on new challenges in a work-like environment and become part of the team who tend the garden and the adjacent vineyard using organic practices.

Through participating in these activities, and with the support of our staff and volunteers, gardeners can re-build their self-esteem and self-confidence and take positive steps on the road to recovery.
