Oxfordshire Mind Comedy Gala 2021

Oxfordshire Mind and Jericho Comedy are taking over The North Wall Arts Centre for our annual Oxfordshire Mind Comedy Gala!

This year the shows will be socially-distanced with live streaming in the evening for those isolating at home. Raising money for the vital support Oxfordshire Mind offers those with mental health problems, don’t miss this hilarious day of belly laughing comedy.

Ivo Graham

Apologetic Eton and Oxford alumnus Ivo started stand-up in 2009 at the age of 18, and eight months and later became the youngest ever winner of the prestigious So You Think You’re Funny award for new acts at the Edinburgh Fringe.

He has become a regular fixture in the clubs and theatres of the UK circuit, with a gauche charm and crafty, self-aware wit which has proved a hit with audiences of all ages, and led to appearances on multiple TV and radio shows including Live At The Apollo, Mock The Week, Live From The BBC and Comedy Central At The Comedy Store. He is a regular writer on Fighting Talk and The Last Leg as well as several others.

His four solo stand-up shows have enjoyed sell-out runs at Edinburgh and London’s Soho Theatre, and he will be returning to Edinburgh Festival in 2019.

Rosie Jones

With her infectious laugh and high energy, Rosie Jones has quickly become a must-see act on the UK comedy circuit.

The ex-television researcher was awarded second place in the Leicester Mercury’s New Comedian Of The Year Award 2018 and has gone on to star on Live At The Apollo, The Jonathan Ross Show, 8 Out Of 10 Cats, 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown, The Last Leg, Joe Lycett’s Got Your Back, Comedy Central UK’s Roast Battle, Mock The Week and more.

Not forgetting her comedy writing roots, Rosie is busy working on sitcoms and wrote on the hit Netflix series Sex Education.

Helen Bauer

Helen Bauer is a meterioc rising star of the UK comedy scene.

TV appearances include The Dog Ate My Homework (CBBC), Fat Chat (Comedy Central), Edinburgh Nights (BBC Two), Period Dramas (BBC Three), Unexpected Fluids (Radio 1), and Radio 4’s Comedy Club (Radio 4).

In August 2019, her debut show at the Edinburgh Festival beat out 700 other shows to be nominated for the Best Newcomer Award.

Huge Davies

Combining his confident on stage presence, dark humour, surreal material and one-of-a-kind customised keyboard, Huge has quickly risen to become one the most exciting, unique new acts in the UK. 

TV appearances include Harry Hill’s ClubniteJonathan Ross’ Comedy ClubThe Now ShowComedy Central at the Comedy StoreThe Comedy Central Chart Show and being the first ever musical battle on Roast Battle UK.

Over lockdown, he performed as part of Comedy Central’s Comedians In Quarantine, and he also wrote and composed the song Luigi’s Lament for the popular Youtube channel Mashed which has amassed 8 million views and counting.

Janine Harouni

Janine’s debut stand-up show Stand up with Janine Harouni (Please Remain Seated) was nominated for Best Newcomer at Dave’s Edinburgh Comedy Awards 2019 and won the BBC New Comedy Award 2019 and Amused Moose Comedy Awards 2019. The show has enjoyed sell-out runs at Soho Theatre.  

This year she will be appearing on the ‘Stand Up Sketch Show’ and in a new sitcom called ‘Buffering’ both for ITV2. 

Chelsea Birkby

Chelsea Birkby, an Oxfordshire Mind Comedy Gala regular, is a rising star, who after having been noticed at a past Oxfordshire Mind gala has since been made an Oxfordshire Mind trustee.
