Support your mental health this January by getting active every day, your way!
We’re excited to be partnering with RED January, a community initiative providing people with support and a focus during a characteristically tough month.
What is RED January?
RED January is a fun initiative that encourages you to support your own mental health by doing something active every single day.
This could be swimming, walking to work (a longer route than usual), walking the dog (further or faster than normal), cycling, dancing or horse riding. Or you could even get active while you sit down with chair based exercise.
So whether you decide to walk, run or swim your way through January for five minutes to 10k and beyond, there are no rules, just get active to make this January red and not blue.
How to register
Registration for RED January 2019 has now closed.
Do you need to fundraise to take part?
You don’t need to fundraise to take part in Red January. However, if you’d like to raise money for Oxfordshire Mind, that’s great!
If you would like to fundraise, the easiest way is to set up a JustGiving page. Just click ‘start fundraising’ on this page and you’ll be prompted to set up a page linked to RED January and Oxfordshire Mind. There is also an option to set up this fundraising page when registering.
There is no individual fundraising target for RED January – we encourage you to raise whatever you feel comfortable with. Every pound REDers raise is hugely important in continuing Oxfordshire Minds vital work.
How do I get a RED t-shirt?
We are excited to share RED’s exclusive RED January 2019 technical t-shirts.
As the t-shirts do come at a significant cost to Mind, there is a charge of £10 to help cover these costs and ensure funds raised from those taking part in RED January are used to support better mental health. You can purchase your t-shirt here.
Should you have any questions or comments please email RED@oxfordshiremind.org.uk.
We look forward to going on this journey with you!
