On the 3rd of April 2017, Oxfordshire Mind will be celebrating half a century of helping those experiencing mental health issues.
For 50 years, we have been striving to gain support and respect for everyone this affects in the area – a mission that has remained unchanged to this day. By working in partnership to challenge stigma and promote understanding, we still hope to spread the importance of community and mutual support to the people of Oxfordshire.
To mark this significant milestone, we are planning a series of events, activities, and fun for the year. To kick off, we asked our supporters to design a commemorative logo. Flooded with entries from service users, supporters and staff alike, this logo will appear on all Oxfordshire Mind correspondence from the anniversary onward.
As well as a party on April 3rd itself, we also plan to host celebrity talks, comedy shows, and a variety of other events throughout the rest of the year, with all proceeds going straight back into the charity.
Programme of events:
- 50 Year Anniversary Party! – April
- An Interview with Alan Johnson MP – May
- Film Screenings – June
- Staff and Service User Sports Day – July
- Comedy Gigs – All year round!
- and much, much more…
The celebrations will involve everyone who has been touched by our work: staff, members, those who use our services, volunteers, peer supporters and anyone who believes in the work we do. Check back to our website for more information as it becomes available, or sign up to Notes of the Week for email reminders.
